Barbara Ann Corcoran

 Barbara Ann Corcoran (born March 10, 1949) is an American businesswoman, investor, speaker, consultant and syndicated columnist. She is also an author, and television personality. In 2001, she established The Corcoran Group in New York City. The company was sold to the company to NRT for $66 millions. Then, shortly after, she exited from the company. Corcoran was one of the first Shark Tank investors. She has appeared in every season of ABC's Shark Tank. She has been involved in 53 deals since February, 2020. The most significant was a $350,000 investment to pay for 40 percent of Coverplay. Corcoran was born in Edgewater, New Jersey, the second child of 10 in a working class Irish-Catholic family. Florence Corcoran's mother was an exemplary homemaker. Edwin W. Corcoran Jr. was her father. He was constantly switching jobs throughout Corcoran's career. Her family sometimes depended on free food delivery from a friendly local grocery store. Corcoran still remembers her father as someone who would drink occasionally and did not treat her mother with respect. Corcoran was a struggle throughout her education and later discovered that she had dyslexia. Corcoran started high school at St. Cecilia High School Englewood after attending a Catholic elementary school. Corcoran was proficient in several courses during her freshman year. She transferred to Leonia High School and graduated with a D.
