Catherine Anne
Catherine Anne O'Hara OC (born on March 4, 1954)is a Canadian-American actress as well as a comedian and writer. O'Hara has won numerous prizes which include the Genie Award (a Golden Globe Award) as well as two Screen Actors Guild Awards and two Primetime Emmy Awards. In addition, O'Hara was awarded six Canadian Screen Awards. In the year 2018, she was made an Officer of Canada. In 2020, she was presented with the Governor General's Performing Arts Lifetime Artistic Achievement award. She first came to the attention of an actor in the year 1974, as a member of The Second City improvisational comedy troupe in Toronto. Together with John Candy (1975-1978), she was part of the primary cast of the sitcom Coming Up Rosie (1975-1978). The following year, O'Hara and Candy began work on the sketch comedy series Second City Television (1976-1984) and she earned the attention of critics for both her performance as a comedic actress and as a writer. She was awarded an award called the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Writing for a Variety Series in 1981. In 2022, O'Hara was added to the newly formed Second City artistic advisory board led by Stephen Colbert, along with Steve Carell, Dwayne Colbert, Tina Fey, Keegan-Michael Key, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Jane Lynch, Tim Meadows, Peter Murrieta, Suzy Nakamura, Sam Richardson, Jeff Richmond, Jason Sudeikis, and Robin Thede.
